“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”

– Sylvia Plath

What about maps to study next?

In class, I feel that we should touch upon maps that are older in the sense of the types of maps that were made during mesopotamia times or those during the ice age. I think it is cool to see how people formed their maps and why they chose to draw it the way that they did. For example, looking at the maps in the library and seeing the maps that were not “conventional maps” because they had pictorials in the background really stood out to me because they were different than your usual geographical maps.

Thinking upon those maps are beneficial in the way that we get to understand the history behind them as well as what was going on during that time period. I believe that studying those will also further help us understand Turchi’s point in that every map is based off someone’s prospective and has bias. It would be very interest and cool to see everyone’s perspectives that were ideals mainstreamed back then compared to now.
